What Are Eco-Baskets

Eco-baskets have characteristics that differentiate them from other baskets sold in the market. To start with, they are made from old magazines that are easily obtained. Specific coloured pages are selected before they are cut into strips.  Each strip is then rolled lengthwise using a coconut reed. The reed is then pulled out after each roll is complete. The base however requires thin wires to hold the rolled strips so as to provide better support and strength. The rolls of paper are then meticulously woven "over and under" until different designs are created. Once completed, the basket is painted or varnished using eco-paint. The result is a stunning piece that is great to hold goodies, toys or even flowers.
